“Wisdom to Carry”
By: Forrest Rivers
The drama of life will consume you
If your mind is focused everywhere but here
And everywhere but now….
The wise don’t run and cower
Under a canopy of self-delusion
They embrace the impermanent tides
Of suffering and joy like trees
Who cling not to the sun and rain….
The time arrives in everyone’s life
When all must surrender
To the winds of change and fear not
The steady march of father time….
Death, as we will find
Is our humble teacher
And trusted guide
To the world of the great unknown
To the word beyond our minds….
Turn within and decide
To live without ego and pride
Turn within and see
That the bliss of being free
Abides in the stillness of nature.
