“The Earth is My Church”

By: Forrest Rivers

three multicolored birds in close-up photography

Chirping birds

Sing their heavenly song

Early in the morning

The rising sun greets

Hungry seekers

Gathered in worship

And the cool air brings

Levity to a new day….

In this church, you see,

There is no priest

Other then the rocks and trees

The mountains and the breeze.

“An Ode to my Beloved”

photo of mountains under blue sky

I can see you

I can feel you

And i can smell you

Oh supreme Goddess

Your divine fragrance is strong….

For your blooming spring flowers

Entrance my senses

And the glorious blue mountains

In whom you take your exalted form

Stirs something deep within me

That is so primal

Pure

And all knowing….

Oh, Eternal Goddess of truth and righteousness

How can I possibly ascend your rarefied peaks

When my own soul is still undeserving

Of your inextinguishable love?

“A Sacred Union”

By: Forrest Rivers

A sacred flash

Of the eternal

A sport of love

Like no other

My divine mother

Flows through me

Her thoughts

Become my thoughts

And her actions

Become my actions

When I breathe

The air enters

And exits

Through my lungs

As her rarefied spirit

Moves me

I am nothing

But a faithful conduit

Of her boundless love.

“Earth viewed from Space”

By: Forrest Rivers

If only we could all view the Earth from the perspective of an astronaut in outer space. Then, we might finally marvel in wonder at this vast blue sphere of awe that we inhabit. Among the first things to be noticed from space would be the miraculous interrelation of all Earth’s land masses and oceans.  We would profoundly see that both expressions of creation form a mosaic of incomprehensible unity and perfection. As we continued to stare off in admiration of our Divine Mother, indescribable waves of love and compassion would fill our souls with faith and understanding. We would instantly recognize that all the wars and greed; and all the famines and disease are products of the illusion of separation. We would then feel this burning love and compassion grow into a space of wisdom as vast as the Universe itself. We would come to know that all forms are projections of One Consciousness.
